Danielle Johansen, PT, OCS joined Parkway Neuroscience and Spine Institute in June 2008 as their Director of Parkway Physical Therapy. She graduated from Quinnipiac University Hamden, CT in 1994 with B.S.in Physical Therapy. She had gained experience while practicing Physical Therapy across the country and has been granted Licensure in 8 states. She moved to Maryland in 2003 while working for Physiotherapy Associates and opened their clinic in Hagerstown in 2004. She acted as Group Director managing multiple clinics in the Baltimore-Washington area. Most recently she practiced at Ryan Physical Therapy.

Danielle was board certified as an Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS) by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties in 2006. She was the first Physical Therapist in Washington County to attain this certification and is one of only 3000 Physical Therapists nationwide who have attained this level of expertise.

Danielle evaluates and treats a wide variety of conditions. She had gained advanced training as a Manual Therapist. Her areas of interest include myofascial pain syndromes, cervicogenic headaches/dizziness/vertigo, orthopedic injuries and post operative rehabilitation. She has a special interest in neurologic conditions and performs comprehensive custom wheelchair seating and positioning evaluations. She was the Head Student Athletic Trainer at Quinnipiac University working with the soccer, softball, and basketball teams.

Danielle is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and serves as the Western District Chair of the Maryland APTA.

Danielle resides in Hagerstown with her husband Eric and two children. In addition to spending time with her family, she enjoys camping, biking, hiking, skiing, golfing, and cooking.
